Field Experience II
EDUC 2402 is a web-enhanced course which introduced me to teaching as a profession and the school as an organization through on-site observation and activities. This is the second of four field experiences that I will complete before my 15-week apprenticeship teaching experience. Field II is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity for me to expand my knowledge base developed in Seminars: Professional Practice I & II, and deepen my understanding of the responsibilities of teachers, life in the school as a workplace, the factors involved in the daily functioning of schools, and teachers in their efforts to effectively teach and optimize learning in performance of all students. During this on-site field experience (30 hours), I attended Leonia High School, from January 4th-January 10th, and had the opportunity to sit in on many classes, focusing on their function, structure and curricula. I hope that the information provided shares some insight into my experience in the field of teaching.
