Educational Philosophy

On the surface education can be simply defined as knowledge acquired by learning and instruction, however, there are so many more levels than that. Education must be continually developing and growing due to the changes and advances in society.  Each and every child in my classroom will be encouraged to share what makes them unique and special.   My goal is to help children to develop their potential by believing in them as gifted and skilled individuals. Since all students learn in different ways I will teach to meet the needs of every child so that each one can gain knowledge from my classroom.  Education and learning is a lifelong and enduring process; I hope to learn as much from my students as they will learn from me.  My students will be encouraged to develop their critical thinking skills as well as their creativity and imagination.

My learning environment will be a place of equality where all questions and opinions count.  Students will be encouraged to form their own opinions and not just follow the norm.  Furthermore, my classroom will be small community where students will have the opportunity to make permanent social connections.

As a teacher I will be open to new ideas and theories about the learning process.  I will use new techniques and methods in order to engage my students more effectively. As society continually changes so should education.
