This course provides a theoretical and practical framework for classroom management, decision-making, social problem-solving, conflict resolution and mediation within classrooms and schools for both students and adults.  The readings and class discussion allow students to explore the sociological, psychological, and ethical aspects of human behavior within a framework aimed at enhancing course participants≠ professional knowledge, skills, attitudes, and techniques.  The course is intended to  provide participants with tools of professional practice that enable them to prevent interpersonal problems, intervene effectively when interpersonal problems that cannot be prevented occur, and build social decision making and social problem solving skills within their classrooms and schools over the long term.
