Computers as a Teacher's Aide

letter: letter Mail Merge

The mail merge feature is an important tool for any teacher to master.  If you would like to send a letter, newsletter or any other correspondence to your classroom parents, the mail merge will allow you to use your time wisely.  Instead of editing the same letter  twenty-two times, this feature allows you to create a master file list so you can send the same letter out to everyone on your roster.  What is really amazing about this feature is each letter will have the student's name and address on it, along with other personal, important information.

books2: books2Teacher Resources

Some of the websites that I have included are useful as teacher resources.  Some of the websites can be helpful for the teacher to plan lessons while others may be fun, interactive tools for the students.

newspaper: newspaper   My Newsletter

I wrote my fictitious newsletter as an introduction  to the parents and my new students.  This newsletter was sent out to the students and their parents because I am a new teacher to the school.  This was a way to reach out to them and connect with them.  I hope they can relate to me as a "real" person.  They know I have a family with children and dogs.

The use of technology helped me to create both a visual and friendly newsletter.  I used microsoft word to help me set up my columns and my border.  Clipart was useful in preparing this student friendly newsletter.

computer: computer 2ALL ABOUT ME-A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

I created this power point presentation so the parents and children in my class could bet to know all about me.  I hope you like it.

clock4: clock4TIME TO TELL TIME-A POWER POINT PRESENTATION

I created this power point presentation to use as a tool to teach time to a 1st or 2nd grade class.  It is an excellent visual tool.  I hope you enjoy it.
