MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
A teacher is a person who conveys knowledge and skills to others. I want to be much more than that. I want to be able to inspire children to love learning about new ideas, new places, and new cultures. I want them to be able to solve little problems so that as they mature they will be able to think logically, and solve the bigger problems that come along in life.
I want to be able to provide information in a way that will be fun, rewarding and fulfilling. I think the use of the internet and technology is a wonderful way to accomplish this. Powerpoint presentations and webquests are two interesting ways for the children to learn.
Most of all, I want each child to feel special about themselves, whether they are gifted or slow learners. I feel the most important gift a child can receive is an education for everything in life. That requires basic education, organizational skills, and much compassion and understanding that goes along with it, which I know I can provide.
Having children of my own, I have learned from them what makes a classroom a wonderful environment where learning is fun, and of course, the not-so-wonderful classrooms where children might be made to feel inadequate.
I look forward to beginning my teaching career with the hope that I can influence future students to love learning and life!
