You are to post all assignments on your edfolio account

Assignments to be posted

Edfolio - all of your assignments (listed below are to be posted).  Under the course Computer as a Teacher's Aide you are to construct a narrative about this class.  Each assignment will be a hyperlink within the narrative.  When someone views your edfolio account they should be able to understand the course content and context by viewing your course postings.

For example:

In our course we created a Power Point presentation of a virtual trip.  The purpose of this project was to explain the various applications and processes for a presentation program.

NB:  Power Point was surrounded by quotes which create the hyperlink to your power point production.  You will continue on with a narrative for all project work.

This narrative must follow a story line and not be a series of disjointed paragraphs.  Remember all class activities have been developed to build on each other.  The simple "Mary" wordprocessing file developed to your Journal; your first class list developed into a linked calculating Excel file; and finally the digital photo of yourself was your introduction to graphics which developed into a full Power Point production - nothing was taught in isolation.

Assignments:

1.   How To. . .

  Create a Table of Contents

Excel

2.   Database of Favorite Websites  (10 sites)

3.   Class List

4.   Virtual Trip calculations

5.   Weighted Grade Book

6.    Course Reflections - write a narrative about this course, what you learned and how you can apply the information to your teaching position.

7.    Flash Cards showing colors

8.    Newsletter

9.    Resume - create a comprehensive professional resume

10.   Room Sign - create a classroom sign for your room with your name/grade/room number

11.  Virtual Trip* Journal - include two charts (Excel) and Handout Masters (Power Point)

Power Point

11a.   2 charts (expenses by day and expenses by activity)

11b.   class presentation of Virtual Trip

11c.   slide handouts

* The Virtual Trip

The purpose of the virtual trip is to make a culminating project that will display your computer ability.  The selection of a location and time period are your own personal choice.

The contents of the project include:

o       Show actual pictures, clipart, maps, charts, and/or any other graphics that illustrate your trip

o       Should be no more than a 20 minute presentation (10 to 15 slides)

o       Color, balance, design, timing all count (covered during instruction)

o       Only include pertinent and/or interesting information

o       Don¡Ùt include anything that isn¡Ùt factual

  • A graph showing your daily expense (transportation costs should be divided by your total days stay)

o       You should use a bar charts to show your information

o       One chart with labels for the days of the week (chart of daily expenses).  This chart should contain the percentages for each day and each activity.  Be sure to have the spreadsheet total each day¡Ùs expenses. (covered during instruction)

o       An additional chart should be used to show comparative activity costs showing transportation, hotel, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and recreation (same data different presentation)

o       Expenses must be from actual activities that would be available

o       If you are facing an exchange rate, calculate it by using an Excel chart

  •  A word processing file explaining your vacation

o       This is your trip journal

  • A database of URL, Activity type, Activity name, Cost, and location
  •  A hard copy (included in your Journal) and electronic copy must be submitted
  •  Cite all sources used

o       Must be in correct format

Have fun and enjoy your trip!
