I'm Jen and I'm a 5th yr at FDU.  I'm in the Quest program for education with a major of English/Writing. I'm not sure what grade level i would like to teach yet though.  This website is basically showing my work progressing as my college career continues.

Research Problem Statement

v     First grade students in L School appear to have extra energy by the end of the day.

v     I believe this is a result of the environment of the school.  The school has a lack of space which limits the physical activity of the students because they are not able to leave their classroom during the day.  They have all extra subjects taught by other teachers in the classroom including; art, gym, Spanish, music, etc.  Lunch is also in the classroom.

v     I would like to maintain my students focus by using their extra energy to my advantage by including more physical activity.

v     I feel that in order to do that I should have interactive lessons , a lesson turned into a game or even so me sort of exercise to help the students use some of their extra energy they have built up

Research Questions:

1)     How can I determine if their extra energy has been regained for their focus?

2)     Will using a journal activity gain the motivation/focus of the students?

3)     Will doing an activity involving movement help reduce the energy?
