My Philosophy of Education
My philosophy of education has been developed from multiple educational courses and several years of teaching experience. I believe the overall task of a teacher is to create a positive learning environment, promote enthusiasm for learning, and provide a foundation for lifelong learning. Providing a respectful and caring environment for the students to learn in will allow them to reach for their maximum potential. If a student feels comfortable with his/her surroundings, they will not be afraid to answer questions, reach for goals, and allow themselves to learn.
I believe education is never ending. Educators need to continue their own learning throughout their lives. By setting an example for our students and continuing our own education, we can motivate and provide a strong model for them to follow.
Every person in the classroom is different. Educators need to teach and present materials in many different ways to allow each student a fair chance to learn. Using different teaching strategies and techniques will give each student an opportunity to utilize each of his/her strengths and help them to better understand the materials and concepts being presented. By presenting the material in many different ways, educators are giving each and every student the chance to be successful. By providing ways for the students to be successful, educators can help to boost the student's self-esteem and help build their excitement for learning. Education and the development of the youth is the primary focus of a future educator like myself. Remembering these tools will help me to become the teacher I am striving to become.
