My Educational Philosophy:
My educational philosophy reflects the Constructivist theory of teaching. I feel that every person learns best in their own way. As such, my teaching practices will allow for student-centered learning that is hands-on and rich in experience, and that will encourage thought and participation on the part of my students. I will allow students the freedom to explore the topics that interest them and will always support them in their efforts to learn and achieve.
I believe that all students have the potential to succeed. I believe in the power of life-long learning and will strive to educate not only my students but myself in order to become a better, more effective teacher.
I will always have high expectations for my students and will try to maintain warm, friendly relationships with them. I believe that by being highly involved with my students and presenting highly motivating lessons, I will be able to stop many behavior problems before they start as well as having a positive impact on my students' lives.
I know that every school year I will have a new class of individuals with unique characteristics. I want to understand who my students are emotionally, socially, physically, and developmentally in order to provide the best possible education that I can for them. I utilize reflective thinking to analyze my actions in order to improve my teaching practices.
My Personal & Professional Goals:
My goal is to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Humanities and Master of Teaching in Elementary Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and to garner a job an elementary classroom. Ultimately, I would love to teach fourth grade!
As a teacher, I will strive to constantly learn and improve myself in order to be the best teacher that I can be and provide my students with the education that they deserve.
