EDUC 6835 - Effective Teaching Effective Schools

Course Description:

Students will acquire and demonstrate skills in effective teaching which address the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) and the New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers (NJPST) identifying the New Jersey State Department of Education as essential skills for beginning teachers.  Presentations of research findings, demonstrations of essential teaching skills by faculty, microteaching, peer coaching, and audio visual instructional materials will be used to impart skills.  Students also will acquire a thorough knowledge of effective schools management and operations to relate to success management and operations that relate to successful classroom instruction.
