EDUC 6824 - Teaching Lab and Field Experience I (MAT)

Course Description:   Guided observation and clinical analysis in an educational setting.  Program assessment and design.  Supervised practical experiences in classroom, increasing in intensity and duration.

 

Objectives:

  1. To participate actively in a variety of teaching tasks in a clinical setting;
  2. To provide the preservice teacher with a practical experience of teaching under the guidance of a professional, experienced teacher;
  3. To observe and identify techniques and factors that make a classroom function effectively:
    1. Classroom management techniques,
    2. Teaching strategies;
  4. To synthesize the research in the two (2) areas listed above and analyze the applications in a clinical setting.

To discuss the relationship between classroom management techniques and teaching strategies.
