EDUC 6824 - Teaching Lab and Field Experience I (MAT)
Course Description: Guided observation and clinical analysis in an educational setting. Program assessment and design. Supervised practical experiences in classroom, increasing in intensity and duration.
Objectives:
- To participate actively in a variety of teaching tasks in a clinical setting;
- To provide the preservice teacher with a practical experience of teaching under the guidance of a professional, experienced teacher;
- To observe and identify techniques and factors that make a classroom function effectively:
- Classroom management techniques,
- Teaching strategies;
- To synthesize the research in the two (2) areas listed above and analyze the applications in a clinical setting.
To discuss the relationship between classroom management techniques and teaching strategies.
