| Welcome to your new EdFolio site!
Congratulations and welcome to your new site on the EdFolio Portal!
- First, make a note of the web address for your site (look at the
form field starting with 'http' in the navigation bar of your web
browser). You might also want to use the Favorites or Bookmark menu
item in your web browser to bookmark this page so that you can easily
come back to your site.
- Before getting started, pay a brief visit to the QuickGuide.
Note how best to work with your site depending on whether you use a
Windows or Macintosh computer. Then carefully read the 'Getting Started
Quickly' page. Once you feel comfortable with the few easy things you
need to know to get started, return to this page and BEGIN!
- When ready to initiate the first editing session of your site, return here and Login
using the link located in the tab in the upper right of this page. Use
the email address and password which you selected when applying for
your account. You should already have received an automatic email
verifying your account information.
- As explained in the QuickGuide,
after logging in as owner ('Managing Editor') of your site, you will
see an 'Edit this Page' button at the base of this page and all other
pages on this site. You will also see a bolded 'Editors Only' menu of
links at the top of all pages. To create a new page, click on the
'Stories' menu item in the Editors Only menu. After making changes to
any page in your site using the 'Edit this Page' button, make sure to
click the 'Post Changes' button. Changes will be lost if you do not
'Post Changes' -- think Post= Save!
Enjoy hours of authoring/editing as you begin to develop great content for your site. Feel free to delete all this welcoming text
and edit this page to become the enticing home page which greets
visitors to your site! For right now, you might want to type something
like, "This site was just initiated. Stay tuned. More coming soon..."
or anything else which reflects your creative inspiration...And of
course you will want to change the title field from "Welcome to your
new EdFolio site!" to something which you want to be the masthead
title for your web site. Remember, you can always go back and change anything...Be Playful...Explore...Happy authoring!
