This therefore is Mathematics: She reminds you of the invisible forms of the soul; She gives life to her own discoveries; She awakens the mind and purifies the intellect; She brings light to our instrinsic ideas; She abolishes oblivion and ignorance which are ours by birth. -Proclus Diadochus

About Me
My name is Elaine Gennaro, and I am a graduate student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, pursuing a Master's Degree in Teaching (MAT). I am preparing for a career change, but I believe that everything I have accomplished thus far has been excellent preparation for this academic and professional pursuit, a career in the field of education.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Douglass College, Rutgers University, magna cum laude, where I was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. I also hold an M.B.A. degree in Finance from the Stern School of Business, New York University, with distinction, and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. Here at FDU, I will complete my certification requirements in May, 2010, and plan to complete the Master's program by December, 2011.
For the past 10 years I have studied classical vocal performance, and have been employed as a professional musician.
I currently
hold CE's in both K-5 Elementary Education, and Middle School
Mathematics. I hope to be certified in K-12 Mathematics by May, 2010.
I strongly desire to use all of my gifts in my future work life. The roles of life-long learner, proficient professional, nurturer, performer, and the possession of a servant's heart, are ideally suited to a career that instructs and inspires others, especially our precious young people. I will strive to be a strong, caring teacher with respect for every student's abilities and high expectations for every student's achievement.
